Spiders

At Training Meeting

Well, this week was interesting. We spent a lot of time in a nearby area, helping President Lacerda close the area. We had to move everything to a nearby city and do an inspection and everything, but we think our work is done there. Oh, and toucans exist! Saw some in a tree, and they have really big beaks.

But the real story is that we almost lost our house to spiders, kkkk. We arrived in house and the door had one at the very top and one at the bottom, a little bit bigger than my hand, just waiting. We looked and then asked our member that lives close by what the best way to kill spiders was. She came with a broom, looked at the spiders and then went and got some bug killer spray. Sprayed them, they did not die, but 3 hits with the broom did the trick. She then informed us that there was probably more inside the house... well that was comforting, but we searched and found nothing, so the house is ours, for now kkkk.

Tyler and his new comp
Well, for the spiritual thought I will use "Jesus the Christ"(the book) In the book it talks about the life of Christ, and one of the subjects is how he never uses the power of God without the consent of God, and never for personal purposes. Not even after 40 days and 40 nights of fasting did He use this power. But for other people, he turned water to wine.  I know that through losing ourselves in charity, we can find true peace and happiness.
Love you guys, hope you have a great week! Let me know how everything goes!!!!

You Speak Portuguese, Right?!

When they figure out that you’re an American, it’s all over, kkkk!(translation=hahaha). They automatically think you can’t speak/understand, but hey, it’s all good.

Well guys, this week went pretty well, we had a batismo of a member that has a lot of family that are not members of the church, so me and my comp got up in front and did a lesson for them, the restoration. It went really well, felt the Holy Ghost really strong, and they understood what I said; learned that I just need to speak louder. Still working on that.

We did a contact as well, we were walking by and he stopped us and asked us what we believed in, "God, the Eternal Father, in His Son Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost”. Started talking with him, he said he had visited almost all the churches, but didn’t believe them to be true. Taught him that he could learn the truth through prayer, bore our testimonies that this Church is true. It went really well. He asked why we don’t use a cross in the Church. This is something I had studied that very morning. If we follow the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, miracles can and will happen, we will be better prepared to help those who cross our path. Well, love all of you!! Hope you have a great week!!!!

Oh, and we do not use a cross because it is a symbol of the death of Christ, and we know that Christ rose on the 3rd day, and that He continues to live and guide us every day. He loves us more than we could possibly imagine. Always remember that.
Love you guys, let me know how everything goes!!!!

Carnival

Aha yeah, Carnival is really strange here, like can't be out at dark and that sort of thing, but it's all good. They have a reverse beauty pageant day here(ask Adrienne) it's really weird, but hey it's Brazil!!!!  I'm staying here for 1 more transfer, got a new comp though, he is really great, we are going to work a lot.
Everything is going well here, language and everything, nothing super exciting happened for Carnival, just in Rio de Janiero. Just a normal week here, hope everything is going well!!! Let me know how everything goes!!!!
